Metabolic Syndrome
with Dr. Wendy Arthur
The past 20 years has seen the
onset of a new worldwide epidemic, central obesity. Census from
1935-1996 in the US indicate an increased prevalence of type 11
diabetes of nearly 765%. These astronomical increases are also
occurring in the developing countries of China and India. Risk
factors appear to be a result of nutritional changes and sedentary
lifestyle. More importantly if these obese individuals have a
waist measurement of greater than 40 inches for men and 35 inches
for women, they have metabolic syndrome. This syndrome increases
the risk of many illnesses that increase risk of death and decrease
quality of life. Metabolic syndrome is associated with a collection
of problems including: obesity; elevated lipids; impaired glucose
tolerance; high blood pressure; and insulin resistance.

Join Jacque
tonight when her guest will be Dr. David Russell Ph.D.;
Author of Healthy Solutions: A guide To Simple Healing and Healthy
Wisdom
When
the body is envisioned as a machine, the response to health problems

In this latter scenario, health is seen as supporting the body's
natural healing processes -- heaping the body heal itself. Often
this can be done in our own homes. Dr. David Russell
Dr.
Russell's book takes this apporach in presenting simple, proven,
safe, and effective home remedies that heal while nourishing the
body, mind and spirit. Join us tonight to begin to understand
