Author and radio talk show host Lisa Bonnice lost 50 pounds while writing her book, Shape Shifting--reclaiming your perfect body, because she thought that losing weight is what would bring her closer to happiness. What she found on the way was that happiness actually brought her weight loss.
Lisa lives a Jimmy Buffet lifestyle and spends as much time as possible barefoot. Her strange and interesting life includes seven years as a standup comedienne, working with the likes of Tim Allen, Jeff Foxworthy, Steve Harvey, and even having dinner with Ellen DeGeneres!
She has also done commercial voice-overs, and has worked as an on-air Internet reporter, humor columnist, bartender, traffic school instructor, and entertainment director at a nudist resort. And that's just a partial listing! Lisa has been studying metaphysics and the magical arts for over 20 years, including pursuing a degree in metaphysics.
Her writing/publishing background includes editing Future Medicine Publishers' Alternative Medicine—The Definitive Guide. She spent over five years as a multi-award-winning affiliate writer and producer for MSNBC.com. In addition, Lisa has also written articles for various spiritual magazines, including a regular advice column on the topic of metaphysics as it applies to weight loss.
Lisa has also had the honor of addressing the Spiritual Caucus at the UN, while serving in her role as Southern Regional Coordinator for Humanity’s Team.
Her original book, Addressing the Goo—the metaphysics of weight loss, caught the attention of Neale Donald Walsch, best-selling author of the Conversations With God series. Walsch loved the book but hated the title. He suggested that Lisa change the title, but that would mean reconceptualizing and rewriting the entire book.
As Lisa’s momma didn’t raise no fools, and since Neale offered to write the foreword for the new version, she took the advice of the expert in the field. She retitled and rewrote the original book, which then became Shape Shifting—reclaiming your perfect body.
