Linda Rivero is a world traveler and founder of a sensational company called Peace Through Travel.
Linda uses her experiences as a global nomad and ambassador for Peace to educate, inform and inspire women travelers to see the world through a new lens of cultural authentic and mindful attention to travel. She not only creates life-changing travel experiences based on meaningful, cross-cultural interaction; she also gives travelers the tools to explore their world with a deepened compassion and love for our planet and all who live in it.
She creates travel opportunities for women from industrialized countries to work with their sisters in developing countries, supporting grassroots efforts to increase their economic and social empowerment. This travel experience emphasizes not charity, but rather the support, learning and personal growth enjoyed by both groups.
Born into a multi-national and multi-lingual family Linda says she was soaked in the trill of Spanish and squealing with delight in Italian well before she absorbed left-brain-based English. She was a miniature citizen of the world by the time she entered pre-school. This love of language including Yiddish only underscored her developing psychological imperative to devote herself to connecting people and places that are ostensibly disparate but essentially united.
She has traveled extensively and lived in Latin America and Europe as well as various regions of the United States. Language and communication have always been her beacons. Linda speaks at six languages and has taught language to such clients as Marriott International, Iberoamerican Network for Sustainable Development, and Get Up and Go! Travel Guides.
Ten years of directing her international, specialized tour company, La Pergola Tours/Italian Country living, taught her the business of sustainable travel with a cultural emphasis…and eight years’ photographing New York City-based performers and exhibiting independent and foreign films through her not-for-profit North of New York Cinema Center sharpened her eye—and need—for beauty.
