The other day my friend Bill McCoy asked me if I knew much about golf. "Sure," I told him. "You try to get the ball through the windmill and into the hole." He laughed and told me I needed professional help. He may have meant psychiatrist Mardi Horowitz, but I took it to mean LPGA golf legend Amy Alcott.

So next week we'll be chatting with this Hall of Famer about the challenges of the game, the pleasures, the legends and the lore. Plus, Amy will share some of her personal conversations with golfing friends about the the game and why it means so much to them.
