Many years ago when I was a morning show host in the Pacific Northwest, I was sent some information on a guy who wrote a beautiful book about barbecuing. Now many people say there’s no point in doing a show on food over the radio. After all… who can see it? I beg to differ. Over the years we have featured, among others, Stuart Anderson grilling a steak on the show and Len Vohs cooking burgers and veggies on a Wolfgang Puck Grill.
And then there was Rick Browne… giving us the lowdown on barbecue and teaching us a thing or two about grilling… at the launch of his first book at the Barnes and Noble in Vancouver, Washington.
Fast-forward a decade or so, and Rick Browne is now the host of a popular PBS program and the author of several beautiful books on BBQ (and why not? He was a photographer early in his career) and I have the opportunity to interview Rick again for the show. You BET I’m going to jump on it!
I hope you’ll join us – just in time for the Independence Day Holiday - for some great recipes, stories and tips with Rick Browne…this week on A Closer Look with Pam Atherton.
